BCD pride itself on delivering culturally appropriate support to help people from CALD communities better connect to their community and care. One of our customers Quoc, is an active man that enjoys socialising with friends and attending weekly Tai Chi classes at the local community club. When covid-19 impacted the world and the closing of activities was announced, Quoc felt socially isolated with the thought of staying home and not being able to do the things that he enjoys. Quoc’s carer expressed her concerns about the impact this would have on his mental health and physical well being if he were unable to continue with his daily and weekly activities as well as connect to others in the community.
BCD’s Care worker ensured that Quoc would remain supported and was able to still connect him to people and enjoy physical well-being activities in the comfort of his own home. Being able to speak the Vietnamese language and culturally understand the diverse needs, BCDs care worker was able to remain supporting Quoc to create a community connection and have a sense of belonging through online video calls and Tai Chi lessons in Vietnamese alongside friends.
We’re with you, for you and beside you! We care for you and will always support you in keeping connected to what matters in your life.
