International Older Persons Day

The older generations hold equally important places in our family systems as well as in our communities. Since 1991, the United Nations celebrated International Day of Older Persons to recognise the importance of seniors around the world and the issues that impact them.

Are you doing anything today to celebrate a senior you know of?

International Day of Older Persons activities can include:

  • Making a cared for your elderly loved one.
  • Taking the time to have a conversation and listen to your aging parents or grandparents for ways to support them to improve their lives.
  • Asking your loved one’s for their opinion.
  • Support a loved one with a task they need help with.

Take a closer look at the seniors in your family and in your community to look for ways you can support and look after them.
