Rhonda attends Acoustic Target Shooting at Cecil Park most weeks and is supported by BCD to do this. The sport is solely for the Blind/Vision Impaired and works totally on sound. The shooters wear a head-set that is connected to a special scope which signals an increasing tone when they are coming onto the bullseye.
Rhonda has shown herself to be very good at this and regularly scores 389+ /400 and this is using an inferior scope and air rifle. The sport has just been accepted into the Paralympic sports for Tokyo. This is her goal to try and compete at this level. To purchase better equipment and become fully competitive was beyond her means. To help achieve her goals, BCD worked with Rhonda to hold a Trivia night. After 5 months of intense planning the Trivia night was able to raise a fantastic amount of just over $10,000. It was a lot of hard work but one BCD was proud to do to help this wonderful lady. She now has her new scope and is waiting on her new rifle that is coming from Germany.
Good luck with your next goal Rhonda!
